General commercial law covers most of a Saudi company's needs, but certain sectors carry additional licensing, reporting requirements, or contractual conventions on top of that general framework. This page lists the sectors where we maintain additional familiarity with industry conventions and their regulators, rather than treating every sector the same way.
Each industry page covers that sector's specific regulatory environment, the most common service areas within it, and common mistakes companies operating in that sector make. This spans thirty-nine sectors ranging from energy and healthcare to technology, hospitality, and financial services.
The need for these pages arises because a company operating in a regulated sector, such as healthcare or financial services, often faces an additional regulator alongside the Ministry of Commerce, and needs to understand how that regulator interacts with its standard commercial obligations.
If your sector isn't specifically listed here, that doesn't mean we can't help. It usually means the sector doesn't carry regulations materially different from general commercial law, and in that case our general service pages are the right starting point rather than a dedicated industry page.
We update this list as our practice grows into new sectors, rather than listing every sector that exists in Saudi Arabia regardless of whether we've actually built real depth in it.
Companies operating across two or three sectors at once are common, particularly holding groups, and in that case one lawyer typically coordinates the view across sectors rather than splitting the file between separate specialists.
A company in technology, media and telecom needs an entirely different review than one in energy and resources, whether in terms of the relevant regulator or the commercial conventions typical of each sector.
